What is a Chemical Peel?

A chemical peel is solution applied to the face to remove dead skin cells and stimulate collagen production and the growth of new cells. The aim is to improve the appearance of the skin – for example, by reducing age spots and evening out skin tone.

I Want To Look Younger – Can a Chemical Peel Work For Anti-Aging?

Yes! Chemical peels can be used to help make you look younger! For clients who want a more youthful appearance, we would recommend a glycolic acid peel. Glycolic acid works to remove the outer most layers of skin and dead skin cells, giving your skin a smoother more youthful look.  A glycolic acid peel will help promote collagen regeneration, reduce wrinkles and fine lines and improve the appearance of sagging skin.

Following your glycolic acid peel, we deeply cleanse your skin and apply a mask which is perfectly suited for your skin.

I Have Sensitive Skin – Which Chemical Peel Is Right For Me?

For clients with dry or sensitive skin, or those who have never had a chemical peel before, we would recommend a lactic acid peel at our Fort Pierce Beauty Spa. Lactic Acid is an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) which works to remove top layers of skin and dead skin cells to reveal smoother, younger looking skin underneath.  A lactic acid peel has all the benefits of a glycolic peel but it is gentler on the skin.

Following your lactic acid peel, we deeply cleanse your skin and apply a mask which is perfectly suited for your sensitive skin.

My Hands Make Me Look Older – Is There a Chemical Peel For This?

Our hands can be one of the first places that can betray our age, so with this in mind we do provide a chemical peel to reduce the signs of ageing on your hands! Hand peels improve the appearance of your hands by using a chemical solution to exfoliate the outer layer of skin. The skin underneath is smoother and less wrinkled in appearance with a more even skin tone, leaving you with younger looking hands.

Are Chemical Peels The Same As Microdermabrasion?

Both chemical peels and microdermabrasion work to improve the quality of your skin and reduce the signs of ageing, however they are not the same. Micro Dermabrasion is non-chemical treatment used to exfoliate, deep clean and renew skin, improve the appearance of sun damage, wrinkles, fine lines, age spots, acne scarring, melasma, and other skin-related concerns. Microdermabrasion uses a special tool which exfoliates and gently sucks away thick outer layer of dead skin cells and debris. Microdermabrasion is also suitable for most skin types.
